At Hnyc, we’re thankful for the folks at Ready, Willing, and Able. Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping our sidewalks safe and clean, making this the best city in the world. New Yorkers begin and end every day in the city on the sidewalks in front of their apartment buildings, and Ready, Willing, and Able ensures those steps are ones that make us proud of our city.

In a city where talent is everywhere, it is difficult for artists of any medium to be heard. So many of them take the to the streets.

If you can make a bunch of busy New Yorkers stop, look, and listen, then rest assured, you have something special.

First it was weird Santas at Grand Central. Now it’s dancing elves at Union Square. Thanks to our readers we now know the weird Santas were promoting Augusten Burrough’s latest book, You Better Not Cry: Stories For Christmas.

Does anyone out there know the story behind the dancing elves? We’re guessing it’s not a promotional stunt for the book, The Elf of Union Square, written by Jan Carr.
